Saekdong is a traditional pattern symbolizing good fortune and prosperity. Myeongtae (dried pollock) is a dried fish used in Korean traditional culture to ward off bad energy and attract good fortune. In Korea, it has long been used as a symbol of good luck. It is sometimes hung in homes on special occasions like weddings, moving, or opening a new business, and also used as decoration in traditional events. Typically, pretty threads or fabric are tied to the myeongtae and hung in front of doors or on ceilings. Just like the meanings of 'myeong' (bright) and 'tae' (peaceful), it signifies brightness and peace.

I run the brand ‘Rodam,’ which bridges tradition and everyday life. I have been active as a bojagi art creator and educator for over 10 years.

With a background in Western painting, I was drawn to the beauty and philosophy of bojagi when I first discovered it by chance. Since then, I’ve explored practical bojagi that goes beyond wrapping to embrace modern aesthetics.

I reinterpret bojagi not merely as simple wrapping, but as an everyday art form that embodies the beauty of tradition.
